At the end of July 2026, members of the Devon Badger Group had a very useful and productive day at the Yealmpton Show, meeting visitors, chatting to local people and helping to raise much-needed funds for the group.
The Yealmpton Show is a local event, bringing together people from the surrounding communities.
Our stall provided a great opportunity to talk to people about badgers and the work carried out by the Devon Badger Group. Throughout the day, we enjoyed a steady stream of visitors who stopped to find out more, shared their own experiences of seeing badgers in their local area or simply had a chat with members of the group.
Events such as the Yealmpton Show are particularly valuable because they give us the chance to meet people face to face and raise awareness of the importance of protecting badgers and their habitats. We were delighted by the interest shown in our work and enjoyed many interesting and informative conversations during the day.
The event was also a great fundraising opportunity for the group, helping us to raise vital funds to support our ongoing work. Every donation and purchase made at our stall helps us continue our efforts to protect badgers and promote their welfare across Devon.

We were very pleased to be part of the show and to have the opportunity to meet so many friendly and supportive people.
All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile day for the Devon Badger Group. We met some lovely people, had lots of interesting conversations, raised vital funds and, most importantly, were able to spread the word about badgers and the work being done to protect them.
